WWDC kicks off today with Apple’s keynote event, where it will unveil major new OS versions like iOS 26, macOS 26, iPadOS 26, and more—including big redesigns. Here’s how to watch the WWDC 2025 keynote live.
WWDC 2025: Four ways to watch Apple’s keynote
Apple kicks off WWDC with its biggest happening of the year so far: the keynote.
WWDC’s 2025 keynote takes place today, June 9 at 1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT and will be live-streamed around the world.
You can watch live in one of four ways:
- The official YouTube livestream, which is available here
- Apple’s TV app, where it will be linked on the Home tab
- Apple’s Developer app
- and Apple’s Events website
Based on our experience, the YouTube livestream (embedded below) tends to be the most reliable and best way to watch an Apple keynote event.
What’s being announced at WWDC?
Every year, Apple uses WWDC to reveal its new major software updates.
This year, there are two especially noteworthy details to note:
- every new OS version is expected to receive a redesign
- and Apple is rebranding its OS updates with new year-based naming
Normally we would expect iOS 19, macOS 16, and so on to be unveiled.
But per Mark Gurman, instead Apple plans to unify all its new updates with the ‘26’ branding—think 2026, but a little in advance like car models.
So iOS 26, macOS 26, iPadOS 26, visionOS 26, watchOS 26, and tvOS 26 are part of Apple’s plans.
We may even see a brand new homeOS unveiled, though that’s less certain since it will come with new hardware that likely won’t launch until later this year.
Outside of the new naming and redesigns, Apple is expected to show off powerful Siri upgrades, new third-party AI integrations, an AirPods software upgrade, a pre-installed Games app, and more.
