Apple launches new Mac and Vision Pro app for managing Immersive content

Apple has just released a brand new app for Mac and Vision Pro. As spotted by MacRumors, ‘Apple Immersive Video Utility’ is available on the App Store as a new way for creators to work with Immersive Video files.

New app for Mac and Vision Pro probably isn’t for you

Immersive Video is Apple’s proprietary format for 180-degree video content that runs on Vision Pro.

The rollout of new Immersive Videos has been slow over Vision Pro’s first year, but several signs have indicated Apple is picking up the pace.

Immersive Video coming to Vision Pro

For example, new third-party devices and tools have launched that should increase Immersive Video production, like a special Blackmagic camera and DaVinci Resolve support.

Now, the Apple Immersive Video Utility app is available to further help creators outside of Apple put together their own immersive content, assuming they have the necessary hardware.

Share your Immersive Videos with Vision Pro users with file types that are simple to download and import.

Scan the dynamic and static metadata of Immersive Video files. Modify, swap, or manipulate the package content to meet your post-production requirements.

Stream to Apple Vision Pro

Connect one or more Vision Pro devices to stream your playlists. For larger groups, use synchronized playback to manage multi-device viewing sessions.
